A decisive moment in Belize's history came 162 years ago, on April 30, 1859. That's when the Aycinena-Wyke Treaty was signed between Guatemala and Britain. It's a boundary treaty which defines Belize's borders as from the Rio Hondo to Sarstoon.
And, for more than 10 years, the territorial activist group, the Belize Territorial Volunteers have heading to the Gracias A Dios border monument - which marks the southernmost point of our land border with Guatemala.
They made that trip again this year - except this time they were excited by the BDF and were welcomed when they made a stop at the Forward Operating Base.
PG TV spoke to a few of the participants:
And more than just music, the BTV invited the troops to a Bar B Q at Gracias A Dios.
We gather the day went without incident or interference from the GAF.
