And to hear the UDP tell it, these complaints raised by members of the ruling PUP are simply attempts to distract the public from the fact that the unions are on strike, and that the Briceno Government has no answers for the country's current financial crisis.

Hon. Patrick Faber - Leader of the Opposition
"I want to remind the Belizean people this morning that in fact, what they saw on Wednesday in the Senate, and in fact, much of what they saw last Thursday and Friday in the National Assembly, in the House of Representatives more particularly, is merely a red herring in order to take away from what Belizeans are experiencing right now, the fact that we have industrial actions afoot here in Belize, teachers on strike, public servants on strike, sending a signal loud and clear to the government that all is not well 5 months into their administration."
