And while their small numbers have yet to make a big impact on the government's decision-making process, Flowers remains confident that in the next few weeks, the government will bend. He's hoping that the response will be favourable, and puts them back at the negotiation table.

Dean Flowers, First Vice President, PSU

"When we reach an impasse such as the one we are at, clearly we would have to apply pressure on our employer to be able to not necessarily give in but to reach a point of compromise so that both sides are happy and you have to be strategic in doing that. You cannot say that you will be doing x, y, z, even though I think the PSU and the BNTU to a certain degree has been very generous in highlighting their soft start and we've been generous, because we are not here to cause harm to the economy and we are not here to remove this government from office. What we are here for is to guarantee a better government for this country and so if has to be strategic, it has to be well coordinated, it has to be well planned and it has to have impact on the government and so the reason why the government has not flinged, or have not flinged, because as I stated they are attacking public officers and threatening public officers as we speak. Whether or not that is being endorsed by the highest office in this country I cannot say, but I know that it's being encourage and endorsed by several of his colleagues, but they have not flinged in terms of inviting us back around the table because to date I believe that they are still enjoying the luxuries that they have grown accustomed to enjoying which is that the service is functioning, the public is enjoying the services that they are paying for and in some cases not paying for since that small handful of elite continue to exploit the broken system in which we operate, but as soon as that starts getting affected, as soon as their comfort level starts getting affected I am certain that maturity and common sense will prevail and we will be invited back around the table."
