And as COVID numbers receded there's some hope for Belize's music industry, all but crushed by the measures imposed during lockdown.
And to celebrate, one music organization is launching a career-making contest. A chance to star in a music video alongside an award-winning international artist.
It's all spearheaded by Belize International Music Alliance Founder Donavan Cayetano and today he told us why artists shouldn't take this contest lightly.
The "Baby I love your way" artist arrives in Belize on the 7th of June.
If you'd like to participate in the contest you'll need to record a one-minute and 30 second, clean acapella singing performance, and send that into the Belize International Music Alliance's Facebook page.
You'll also need to leave your full name below that video.
