Gene Lopez's Crazy House Bar and kitchen is a well known-speakeasy in San Pedro.

It was also one of Jasmine Hartin's favorite hangouts, a place she goes to relax, sing karaoke, and even twerk on the bar.

The owner said Jasmine liked it there because she could drop the facade she often had to wear in her husband's circles. Most often she came there with locals, often cops, the company of whom she seemed to prefer.

Gene Lopez - Owner, Crazy House

"It was kind of hard to believe knowing that she does love freedom and knowing that if you do commit such an offense or such a crime you would be arrested and be locked away for a very long time, perhaps for the rest of your life. So, when that story was given to me, it was a little bit difficult to believe but being a police officer, it is possible, the possibilities are great but without evidence from my experience, I cannot say it is her or it is not her. She was always well dressed, long jeans, a descent shirt, she would come in and she was like you exhale, very comfortable. If she is by herself, she would prefer to be upstairs where you have open air and if she comes with a friend or two, which normally we go anywhere from 1 to 6 persons, they would stay here for a minute, get party drinks and then go up. I've never seen her high, she comes to crazy house and she really relaxes. We've never had a bad moment with Jasmine. If she is by herself, she goes up and relax, she has friends, they would entertain themselves by going over to the karaoke room and they would sing and her friends would dance, they would enjoy themselves then leave peacefully, no problem, all bills paid, never had a problem with Jasmine."

Lopez, who is also a security guard says he also was one of the first on the scene in the moments after Supt. Jemmot's death. He says that when he got there he found Jasmine covered in blood. He called out to her but she didn't answer at first and when she did it was only to ask for a cigarette.
