And switching now from statistics to celebrations….it's only 10 days to Christmas. And, while some viewers are excitedly making last-minute preparations for the special occasion, the reality is that some Belizean families, who are struggling with low income and/or pandemic distress, won't have much to enjoy.

In an effort to spread a little Christmas Cheer, Bowen & Bowen reactivated its annual Jingle Box Donation. It's a tradition which the employees started back in 2009. They raise funds for the donations, and management matches that sum to put together a box of items for needy families so that they can at least have a warm meal for the holiday.

This morning, over 200 Jingle Boxes were handed over to partner organizations for distribution. 7News was there, and here's what the donors had to say about this year's contribution:

The Jingle Box initiative is a collaborative effort with St. Vincent De Paul Society, the World Pediatric Project, the Belize Cancer Society, St. Martin's Parish, the Women's Department, Hand in Hand Ministries, and several others.
