And finally, tonight, every year the Flowers Bank Fourteen are remembered for the journey they made from that rural village into Belize town to cast their vote in an important decision - to stay and fight the Spanish, or to abandon the colony. That vote is what laid the groundwork for Belize's history - and it is why the Tenth of September is a day cemented in history.
