And the sargassum clean up will continue in preparation for the first Lobster Fest in two years. Caye Caulker is gearing up, since this event is one of their main annual attractions that draws crowds from across the country, and abroad. While Chairlady, Seleny Villanueva Pott explained that they couldn't go "all out," she still believes it'll be just as thrilling as previous Lobster Fests.

"The plans are well underway. Due to COVID, we were not able to go as big as the Lobster Fest Committee would have liked. There were talks and they were being discouraged, not wanting to have one and we reached out and the Belize Hotel Association reached out and said, you know what, this is an excellent rebound strategy, we must have one. We're very grateful that the Lobster Fest Committee agreed to have one and the plans are well underway. We did not get any international entertainment this year, we struck with local, which is an excellent thing, we can promote our local Belizean artists, local Belizean band, I believe it will be just as good as any other one. So the excitement is in the year and we are looking forward to it."

"Everything is booked, people are looking for rooms, so it's, again, it's bringing back life to Caye Caulker and we're very happy for that."
