And almost everyday this month, there will be activities taking place in all six districts. Here in Belize, you can look forward to events such as Carnival Road March, the Fire Engine Parade, the Expo Belize Market Place, the 8th Annual Soca and Culture Fest, the Independence Day Ceremony and much more.
But one very important activity seemed to be missing from the September playbill, and that is the Citizens Parade, which usually takes place on the 10th of September. Today, we asked the co-chair of the NCC about this glaring omission, and she clarified that it was just an oversight.
Merilyn Young, Co-Chair, NCC
"I'm surprised that it's not there because that was on the calendar that we submitted in so we I'll have to check on that, but the parade will be held. The Saint George's Caye Day society is coordinating the parade on the 10th and we've shared the route with the police and that route will be kicked off from here as well. So, I will have to ensure that we do changes especially in the ones that will be going in the newspaper and to do the changes on the one on the Facebook pages as well. Thanks for that, I didn't notice it sorry, thanks."
We note that the playbill - usually released in mid to late August didn't come out until September first.
