And during the Ahmadiyya press conference, you may have noticed that the usual spokesperson didn't say much. That's because for the last month and a half, there's been a new president of AMJ Belize. The former president, Naveed Mangla, has passed on the position and will soon be traveling to Canada to continue his work. Today, the new president spoke to us about the change, and Mangla teared up a bit when he spoke about having to leave the country that has been his home for the last few years.

Arslan Warraich, President, AMJ Belize
"We never wish or desire any sort of role. And Brother Naveed has done a tremendous job, something that I feel I will never be able to fill those shoes because you can see we're sitting in a very beautiful building, this is through his hard work and the work of all the missionaries that have gone through Belize and Brother Naveed has really put, for our community as well, he has put Belize on the map so he's done a lot of the work and you know they say, they put the seed into the ground and now I feel like I'm at that stage where I'm just going to be collecting fruit. Me being here, I only request for humble prayers that God gives me the ability to serve in the best possible manner and that there's nothing that I do that causes any sort of harm to the community at all."

Naveed Mangla, Former President, AMJ Belize
"I'm grateful for whatever Belize has given me and I've now been appointed to work in Canada. I'm requesting everybody to remember me in your prayers and that's all I can say. When I was talking to my wife, I promised her that I won't cry but it is what it is right. I think on behalf of the community, we're very grateful to the media and all of Belize. When I came here, we were, as Islam or Muslims, everyday you would hear that an attack has happened and we were always on the defensive side. Keeping that in mind, yourself and all of Belize were able to give us a chance to at least express who we are and for that, we're very much thankful."
