Our next story is about the Steadfast Masonic Lodge. They today welcomed the Most Worshipful Grand Master of a brother lodge, the Union Grand Lodge in Florida.
He arrived today along with his delegation of grand lodge officers.
The lodge brothers are in Belize to attend the association's 60th anniversary Banquet.
They arrived at the. Biltmore this afternoon and he spoke with us today about his visit so far.
Jeffery G Jones, 19th Grand Master, Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge
"So the grand master has a tendency to visit lodges across it's jurisdiction, the jurisdiction of Florida obviously represents obviously the Florida jurisdiction, plus it extends into Belize as well as the St John, US Virgin islands to the British virgin islands. So when we visit the lodges it's to actually keep them abreast of the things that and the changes that are happening in our organization so we don't get to Belize as often, not as often as we should. I think the last time a grand master was here was in 2012. Not my immediate predecessor but my predecessor before him, so I'm here to just build some camaraderie and make sure that the brothers are up to speed on all the things that we have going on in masonry. They typically don't get to see us but once a year when they come to our annual grand session in April so we are here to promote some brotherhood and let the community see us and actually just fellowship."
Stanley Longsworth, Worshipful Master, Steadfast Masonic Lodge
"Well this year we are celebrating our 60th anniversary as an organization in Belize, as a masonic body in Belize and in connection with that activity we are having a banquet this weekend, and the grand master and his delegation were invited to participate in that celebration, so they will be here for the next four days. The main highlight is the banquet of course but they could not come to Belize and not enjoy and see Belize, so we also have some activities planned to showcase what Belize has to offer."
Notably, as of today, the highest echelon of the police senior command, meaning the commissioner and all three deputies are a part of Steadfast Masonic.
