The "Imagination Factri" in collaboration with art teacher Kirkland Smith is premiering an art show from an emerging artist. 18 year old Tiara Glenn will be putting on her first solo exhibition, titled "Dare to Dream." It opens tomorrow and Jomarie Lanza got a preview:

Emerging artist Tiara Glenn has surmounted a critical stepping stone in every young artist's career: She will be hosting her first solo exhibition at the image factory tonight, displaying a wide variety of pieces created by her skillful brush and eye for detail and colors. She took us back a bit today, and told us more about the birth of her love for art.

"I started at the age of two as soon as I could pick up a pencil I actually started to draw. And I really love drawing I also went to like the street art festival every year my dad took me and I was very inspired by the work of different Belizean artists and from there i wanted to kickstart my own art journey so I started to learn on YouTube and I learned how to draw and I started to get better then I started painting in 2021 with Mr Smith when I was doing visual art. And at first I didn't know how to paint, I was putting too much water in the acrylics but afterwards. After Mr Smith taught me how to paint I got the hang of it and since then I've been in love with painting."

"I've actually been printing for two years and how I got this experience is through Mr Kirkland Smith. He recently launched exhibitions for his students to have so it gives us more exposure."

Tiara says that she has taken this opportunity to display all her art and some of her favorite pieces for the public to see. While there may be no set theme or tone for this exhibition, it comes off as more of a debut for her, and some of her most finest commissioned pieces.

"How did you go about selecting the school piece? Were you going along with a theme or is it just different variations of your work?"

Tiara Glenn, Artist
"It's actually different variations, some of them are commissions from people that support me so there are different types of art work. There is pen artwork there is work on canvas acrylic on canvas and there is also acrylic on wood as well."

JO
"Is there any particular piece that you would say was your favorite or was a bit more challenging to paint than you expected?"

Tiara Glenn, Artist
"I would say this one right here. It was very challenging because it was a lot of firsts for me. First time painting rocks and really like doing different types of trees. I've done waterfalls before but it was the first time I did it in this way so there is was a lot of challenges but I loved how it turned out."

The exhibition opens at 7:00 tonight.
