Back in October when the UDP protested on the National Assembly Stairs, a group of retired BDF soldiers joined them. The retirees told us that they stopped working over a year ago and have still not received their pension. They say they've been given the run around by the Treasury Department and the Ministry of Finance. Yesterday, we asked the National Defense Minister about it.

"I can't speak to those ministries but I have met a couple of them and I've asked them to come and see me for us to sit down and look at it, for some reason they can't reach me as yet, meaning they can't reach the ministry as yet, because, again, as a former soldier, I don't want these guys to be having these issues. Issues we have, we will never have a time when there will be none, but once I am aware of it, we will work on it and try to find a quick solution as possible."
