Where will you be in July? The Belize Tourism Industry will be gearing up out in San Pedro trying to top last year's Belize International Music and Food Festival.
The artist roll out has already begun and Jomarie Lanza took a look at who we should be expecting up on the stage this year.
July 27-28th marks the third upcoming Belize International Music Fest, set to make its way back onto La isla Bonita where it first launched in 2022.
It's one of the biggest music festivals to ever take place in Belize, initially created and marketed to attract foreigners and other visitors to boost tourism sales at the peak of the Summer season.
While there has been both positive and negative feedback on the execution of the festival, from prices right down to logistics and performance times for artists, this year's buzz is concentrated around the lineup for the two day set.
The BIMFF began issuing announcements on the festival as early as January 1st, making its first "Big" artist reveal in early February being" Collie Buddz". So far, the main headliners for July 27th's Mega Concert set to take place in the night are Collie Budz, Valiant, and Shensea.
The only artist revealed so far for the Day party happening the 28th is Latin sensation Prince Royce.
Ticket prices have not yet been announced as yet but these major celebrity names have caused quite a stir among the younger generation eager to make their way out to the island in July.
Though numbers have never been released, last year's festival at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex in Belize City saw a strong turnout. Though the gate from the last concert is not known - it was felt that this year needed a comeback.
Is it possible that these names may generate an even bigger crowd and will it break even? We will have to wait and see.
Of course, those big names don't come cheap. Those in the promotion business whom we spoke to tell us that the names on the lineup announced so far cost upwards of 150 thousand US dollars - and that's without plane tickets and other ancillary costs.
