SCA Student Kia Harris showed up at the KHMH today to hand over a sentimental and unique donation to the Pediatric ward. As part of her school's charity initiative, Harris donated handmade plush toys that she knitted herself. The unit manager expressed their appreciation for the gift, encouraging more persons to donate to the ward often and not just on special holidays.

"This passion project came to my mind because I enjoy doing it and I wanted to spread the joy with little kids. We have frogs, a cow, a bear, and like my favorite little turtle, jellyfish and a bunny."

"How long did it take you to make something like this?"
Kia Harris, Student, SCA
"Each one took about five hours each. They have like different patterns. So this one I started off with a different pattern from the rest that's why I made it a little bit looser, but it's okay because you know different patterns."

"We always are welcome to young people who want to do initiatives to help our patients in this area."
"We do have a little bit chilly atmosphere so the kids when they come in and they get little trinkets or gifts always appreciated because remember that when we're not feeling well we tend to be a little bit depressed, so when we get little visitations and little gifts from anyone the kids usually you know feel happy and excited when they get something new."
