The Inspiration Center held its annual Children's Artwork Launch today featuring the artwork of 6 children with diverse abilities.

Their Founder Kim Simplis Barrow told us why this particular event is of great significance to the center, and why they look forward to it each year.

Kim Simplis Barrow, Founder of Inspiration Center
"We do a summer art work without kids, the clients here at the Inspiration Center, and over the years we have been doing calendars but we have had to pivot because everyone has a phone now and so they have their calendars there, and we put the artwork on different things, the cups and other things but this year we decided to put it on a t shirt. We had about 7 of our clients that did artwork and yes it is always a way in December to close off on a high note."

"For them doing the artwork and us having this activity really is a highlight that our children can thrive they just need that opportunity and an opportunity here at the inspiration centre we try to give them every single time it is not just about coming here and getting therapy whether it is speech, physical, occupational therapy, it is really working with the children and their families to do more, to see the potential of their children in different ways."

Jo-
"So what do the parents think about this initiative when they come in and see the drawings and see the things the kids are able to do?"

Kim Simplis Barrow, Founder of Inspiration Center
"They absolutely love it. I think it is one of the favorite activities we do here at the center, when we have this event where we have special guests, we have our entire board, we have the staff here who participate and for the families and their parents. it is such a way, it is a motivation for them it is a motivation for them especially knowing my child can do this or like when you read their bios, what they aspire to be, some want to be police officers, firemen, a teacher and you know probably without these activities they would never find out what their child wants to do."

We were informed that 5 children's artworks were displayed but 6 kids were featured at the event, because one of them had unfortunately passed on.

T-shirts are available with the children's artwork for purchase as well and you can find a form to do so on our website.
