For the past three days teachers from Holy Redeemer School have been involved in a conference entitled "the mystery of math, the magic of science." While to most there is no mystery in math and no magic in science, the teachers are learning that in reality there is. Three instructors from the U.S. are helping the teachers at Holy Redeemer School to find it and take it into the classroom.
"It is an opportunity for the teachers here at Holy Redeemer School to upgrade their skills in Math and Science using the very latest cutting edge techniques from the United States. So they are learning hands on problem solving techniques that they can apply in the classroom so the children here can learn and love subjects that a lot of kids don't like at all."
"Sometimes their own feelings about math and science kind of get in the way and makes it kind of boring for the kids too. So will take away not only their excitement but then some hands on techniques and teaching strategies that will make math and science more fun and available for their children."
Next year a similar workshop will take place focussing on Language Arts.
