Three young attorneys were called to the bar today. They are Tricia Pitts, Vanessa Retreage and Aldo Reyes. It's a call to a most esteemed profession, and no one knows that better than Tricia Pitts. She joins a family firm with deep roots in lawyer-ing and today she told us that as a young professional she has to live up to her family's and the community's expectations.

Tricia Pitts,
"It has been hard because it requires a lot of dedication, it requires a lot of discipline. I am sure you know that it is not an easy road, it take five years of study. First you go to the UWI and then you go to Norman Manley Law School and all this time you spend away from home and it takes a toll on you at some point in time, not to mention the financial difficulty you face if you don't have that support from your family. The first part of the question I should say whether I see myself as a role model, yes because it shows that with hard work, you can do whatever you want to do and we should just not sit back and take anything for granted. We should go for what we want and as women we need to do that. I am excited but I know now that the hard work begins and I have to put myself behind my name, my profession and produce."

Tricia Pitts will join the firm of Pitts and Elrington.
