Since November 19th, Julian Cho Technical High School in Toledo has been without a principal. There are two possible candidates to fill this position, Dr. Kent Arzu who has been interim principal for a couple months and Dr. Simeon Coc who has reached retirement age. Now Arzu would be a natural fit, but Dr. Coc can't be overlooked given his seniority. When we asked Education Minister Patrick Faber about it today he gave his understanding of the issue but stressed that it's ultimately up to the school board to resolve this issue:
Another possible perspective on the school boards alleged hesitation to appoint Arzu has to do with race since he is Garinagu and the majority of the board members are Mayan..but Faber says there is no evidence that that is the case.Â
