The European Union and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) are donating laptops and 8 projectors to the Senior Officers of the Health Education and Community Participation Bureau, known as HECOPAB.
9 District Health Educators from the Ministry of Health and Wellness will receive these laptops and projectors. The donors are hoping to strengthen their ability to train health workers at the community level. This donation is envisioned as a means of empowering the District Health Educators to better train the Community Health Workers in all 6 districts of the country. The areas of focus will be non-communicable diseases and COVID-19 prevention and control.
Dr. Jorge Polanco, the Non-Communicable Diseases Technical Advisor for PAHO/WHO, handed over the donated items to Dr. Javier Zuniga and Ms. Kathleen Cho, who received them on behalf of Dr. Melissa Diaz-Musa and the Ministry of Health and Wellness.
