Yesterday, we showed you the latest moves to activate the Belize Parliamentary Alliance Against Hunger and Malnutrition. That's the organization, which is chaired by House Speaker Valerie Woods that wants to implement programs to reduce hunger and malnutrition within schools for the poorest school children.
At that event yesterday, seedlings were distributed among the "parliamentary champions" who make up the Alliance. And today, House Speaker Woods, the Agriculture Minister, and the Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children made a visit to the Agro-Processing Unit in Cayo. They were there to find out if there are cheaper ways to create meals and snacks for hungry children so that funding for school feeding programs can give greater value for money.
