Belize's Y.W.C.A. has served women, girls, and their families for over 65 years. Their services which include self-improvement and skill-building courses, day-care, and pre-school, have been vital to City's development, especially during hard times.

Still recent hard times brought on by the global pandemic finally overwhelmed the Center and forced it to close its doors. That sad reality has been particularly difficult for mothers of young children who relied on the center for low-cost adequate child care which in times past allowed them to maintain their employment.

But this week the Y.W.C.A has reopened and that's down to some very good news of a monetary donation that they've received from the Lifeline Foundation. We heard more about it from foundation chair Kim Simplis Barrow this morning.
