And if you didn't catch that, the Commissioner is basically implying that the organizations which are supposed to represent their interests haven't been doing enough to educate its membership on the legal intricacies of the 2015 CCJ Order.

"The FPIC that we got, upon taking office - and as we continue to do the consultations, it is unfortunate that I have not found a community who have said, we know what is in that document, but yet, it is a right that they must exercise, that they must. I found out that not enough consultation, the leaders are not going out there. There is no conversation happening. I go to these communities and they ask me, Commissioner, I have a freehold title I am Maya. I have a lease. What will become of it? Every village that has been impacted by lease or freehold title has these concerns. And from the fact that they've been asking these questions tells me that since the Consent Order was signed, that conversation has not been had with the villages."
