Earlier in the news, we told you what the Police Minister had to say about the increase in major crimes. He has always championed the need for a multi sectoral approach to crime - not just more officers on the ground, but also more community policing and more affordable education.

Well, 540 youths graduated from a program organized by the Department of Youth Services, The Leadership Intervention Unit, and the Ministry of Home Affairs. This group of graduates underwent training in customer service and graphic design, as well as sessions hosted by the LIU and the National Youth Training Institute.

And out of those 540 graduates, 240 of them come from at-risk neighborhoods in Southside Belize City.

Today, Minister Musa and the director of DYS, Kevin Cadle, explained the importance of this program.
