PM On Workers Outside of the SSB Net

The opening address at today's event was delivered by the Minister in charge of Social Security - PM and Minister of Finance John Briceno.

He urged those tens of thousands of workers who are not registered with social security to do so:

"While 107,164 persons are beneficiaries of the Social Security scheme, this only represents 66% of the employed labour force which at the end of 2021 stood at 161,000 people. This means that about 54,000 people do not have Social Security coverage. To these persons I say, get yourself registered."
