And the Taiwan Embassy has also partnered with the Belize Defense Force to give the soldiers training in the second most spoke language in the world, Chinese Mandarin. The Brigadier General explained that they jumped at the opportunity to learn a new language, especially since the embassy is also offering courses for the soldiers in Taiwan. He added that learning a new language will also better equip them to deal with the Chinese community, and mentioned that there are soldiers who are also currently learning Spanish.
There are 30 soldiers in all taking the course, including the Brigadier General.
