The Belize Coast Guard and the Taiwanese government today signed an agreement covering search and rescue, fisheries enforcement, and combating transnational crime at sea.

At a ceremony held at the Coast Guard headquarters, the Coast Guard commander says that the agreement will open doors for the Marine Law enforcement of both countries to share training and best practices:

An official release adds,: The agreement… supports expertise and exchanges that will continue to enhance the Coast Guard's ability to perform the very critical tasks associated with supporting the blue bond initiatives of expanding our marine protected areas." End quote.
