World Food Day was observed today on Canada Hill at the Agricultural and Natural Resource Institute - known as ANRI - which is just across the way from the old Lynam college in Stann Creek.

The event was held at this historic location to give impetus to the effort to inject new life into the south's only school for agriculture.

The Minister of Agriculture and the Area Rep put it in historical context:

20 buses were brought in for the event.

The theme for World Food Day is "Better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life."
