On Monday, the Ministry of Health and Wellness was quick to fire off a piddling press release trying to bash Sunup on 7 after our news director pointed to critical shortages of medicines in the public system due to a late tendering process and delayed distribution.
The release deflected blame and didn't address the shortages - but said that meds are being being delivered.
Well, try telling that to the folks at the regional hospitals. Today a swarm of Facebook complaints was stirred up when one user at the Northern Regional posted her frustration with the total shortage of medicines. She complained that they don't even have painkillers. In reply commenters posted that there's not even tape to dress wounds. In the past week we have received many such anecdotes in our newsroom from first hand experiences.
