"This year's World Food Day celebrates one of the planet most precious resources, water. It is essential to life on earth. It covers the majority of the planet's surface, makes up more than 50% of our bodies. It helps us, it feeds us, it supports livelihoods, and is central to achieving the 2030 sustainable development goals."

"With about 70% of all freshwater going to agriculture, changing the ways we produce food and fiber, and other agricultural product is most a crucial task. It is also sure that if we fail to act now, we will have serious consequences in the next five to ten years."

Armando Aban, FAO Country Correspondent
"It is essential to recognize the global and local significance of water in agriculture. Water is an essential in achieving the ethos for better, better nutrition, better production, better environment, and better life."

"Adequate and sustainable access to water is the key to advancing these essential aspects of agriculture. Water, the lifeblood of agriculture, plays a pivotal role in shaping our economic landscape and fostering inclusive growth."
