They want to stop David Gegg from building a commercial marina in their neighborhood and today the residents from West Landivar scored another courtroom victory.
The residents, under the banner of the “West Landivar Action Committee” went to court asking for judicial review of the permit issued by the Forestry Department to David Gegg. That permit allowed Gegg to trim the mangroves. But as we reported, more than trimming, Gegg began clearing mangroves on July 14th. Justice John Muria today granted leave to apply for judicial review of the Forestry Department’s permit.
A late night court injunction from residents halted work. Last week a judge extended that junction until the trial is held – which could be as much as another year or more.
