And while Gegg might suffer setbacks in the court of law, he may think he has a better chance in the court of public opinion. This afternoon a group of about 30 young men marched through the Caribbean Shores constituency. They say they were marching against Jose Coye and for David Gegg. The group was led by Easy Glenn who told us they were marching for jobs. He said David Gegg played no part in today’s protest and that they raised funds from a barbecue sale.

“We are supporting Mr. Gegg and his project because these are Caribbean Shores’ youths and these are the youths who need jobs.”

“Man if you look at that whole crowd over there, those are all from West Landivar. People on this side are from Kelly Street. Zone 4, zone 3, and zone 5 came together.”

“My brother I had raised my funds through barbecue and so forth and I would like to thank various sponsors like Mr. Tony Habet, Mr. Santino.”

“This looks like a rent a crowd? If you were here, you would know if it is a rent a crowd because you would have been in the same shoes but you had moved on.”

What do you hope this will accomplish?

“Well my brother like I said, Keith the message will go to the their door because it is not me, I am an old lion without teeth. These are the youths we have to out for. We can’t eat mangroves. We don’t make pencil or paper out of mangroves. Before Miss Perlita or whosoever is at the back there, before they built their houses, they had to chop down mangroves.”

“Man most of these guys have been working for Mr. Gegg. Joe Coye isn’t providing jobs.”
