Latest On The Sleeping Giant Situation

The Sleeping Giant mountain range continues to smoke and smoulder tonight, with the fire near the hill increasing in size up to Wednesday, June 23, at 3:00 p.m.

Now the Ministry Of Natural Resources is concerned about the escalation and potential impact and threat to the forest ecosystem. They're considering the use of aerial firefighting support to extinguish the fire.

Tonight, in a press release they've assured the public that the fire poses no threat to human life, settlements, or infrastructure.

Another update on the situation is promised for tomorrow, Friday, June 25.
