Tomorrow, the Coastal Zone Management Authority and Institute will officially begin to solicit views from different stakeholder groups on how best to implement a Marine Spatial Plan for Belize.
You'll remember that conservation commitment that forms part of Belize's Blue Bonds for Ocean Conservation. As part of the conservation agenda for the Blue Bond, Belize has agreed to map out and place protection on 30% of its ocean space. Stakeholders groups will be allowed to give input on the best way to implement this spatial plan to ensure that it supports the local economy while protecting marine habitats.
