The Ministry of Agriculture has compiled the data on the quantum of damages that Hurricane Lisa caused in their sector.
Today, Minister Jose Mai didn't have a figure, but he did say that the Cayo district got the most damage:
Jose Mai, Minister of Agriculture
"I will tell you that the area most affected was the Cayo area - where we have sugar cane, fruit trees along that path where the hurricane passed over. We were fortunate that much of the corn crop had already been harvested - thank God for that or we would have suffered serious losses. We had some losses in soy beans, but fruit trees were affected a lot."
Mai departed for Chile today.
