Dive Boat Removed From Reef, Damaged To Be Assessed

Tonight, the "Belize Aggressor 4" is off the reef after 10 days grounded near Lighthouse Caye at the Aquarium Dive Site.

7News has learned that it was removed by another vessel yesterday after many days of delicate maneuvering. The salvage plan had to first be approved by the Department of the Environment.

A joint team comprising all the relevant government agencies did a preliminary assessment on the coral damage.

Now that it has been removed an in-depth assessment of the damage will be finalized. After that, a fine will be assessed.
