Public Hearings To Start For SSC Portico Probe

Belizean winter may be coming, but things will heat up politically in December. It was announced today that the Senate Special Select Committee investigating the Portico Definitive Agreement will have its first public hearing on Tuesday December fifth in Belmopan.

No list of who'll testify has been publicized but a Select Committee can call anyone to testify, including government ministers right up to the PM- although he has preemptively indicated that there's no need to call him.

The Committee will investigate the UDP genesis of the agreement, right through to the attempt to get it passed through the PUP Cabinet.
