And speaking of that precious water resource - it is also what is harnessed to create electricity - and as we told you last week, reservoir levels are dangerously low.
This footage of the Chalillo Reservoir was taken over the weekend - and it shows how depleted the water supply is.
Last week the Chairman of BEL told us that there is about three weeks supply of water in the reservoir - which would now be down to about two weeks.
If rain doesn't come soon to top up these levels, another even more painful round of load shedding could be expected.
