Yesterday we showed you the unprecedented flooding at Soldier Creek Bridge on the Coastal Plains Highway.

The Chief Engineer says it was caused by blockage of the Creek which forced run-off away from the creek and into a culvert not designed for such high volumes of water.

He attributes this to development and deforestation in the area - as well as forest fires.

Today, for proof, he provided aerial pictures of that area around mile 17.5 on the Coastal which shows large scale development and large clearings of the previously forested areas adjoining the highway.
