Why Port Is A Pigsty

The Port of Belize has been looking like a pigsty for the past few weeks - but here's why as mud is slathered across the roads inside and the streets outside the Port.

Well, a Port representative explained to us today that It is mud that the port is getting from the dredging of the low berthing facility for the San Pedro barges.

Apparently, It had not been done in a long time which sent vessels to other areas of the city to barge goods to the island.

The contractor is removing the silt, but they need to go through that street area and it does cause mud to be dispersed.
