Tonight, Ministry of Home Affairs Special Advisor Aaron Guzman is under scrutiny - and that's because the Forestry Department found illegal lumber being cut on his farm in Silk Grass.

The Forest Officers found illegal lumber and an entire sawmill operation. They then reportedly had a face off with one of Guzman's sons.

But, undeterred, Forestry plans to take custody of the unlawfully cut wood.

Speaking with Guzman today, he acknowledged that his sons did cut down about 15 trees on his farm and did not seek a permit as they should have. He says he. Should have gone to Forestry for permission but just never got around to it. He says he plans to deal with it next week.

Of course, that's too late because the offence has already been committed. The Forestry Department also sees a red flag raised in the fact that a sawmill was on the farm.

Guzman says the trees were only cut to make some structures for his farm. He stressed the land is privately owned and he has full title for the 225 acres.
