And while the PM said he could not speak on behalf of the Waterloo Charitable Trust - which has been his family's business partner in Speednet for many years - Minister Henry Charles did speak generally of the myriad Ashcroft Alliance Charitable Trusts - he said he has never seen any benefit from them:

"Is it clear to you what has been the benefit of these Ashcroft Group trusts to the Belizean people?"

"I have not seen any benefit from those charitable trusts, so I couldn't answer that. I really don't know what they've done, I don't know the composition of this particular trust, who created the trust, who are the trustees. And certainly when you speak about, for the benefit of, and then you give a broad group, it's really not specific enough to say that they've done anything of substance."
