Police are reporting that they have recovered three dell computers that were stolen from the offices of the Alliance Against AIDS on Tuesday night. Police investigations have led to the recovery of the equipment and the arrest of three persons. 24-year-old Gary Bowen, 20-year-old Jamal Gentle and 30 year old Sherillyn Young appeared in Magistrate's Court to answer to charges of handling stolen property.

And while police recovered the computers it could not have come at a better time as the Alliance is hosting a 4 day workshop for capacity building for advocacy for people infected and affected by HIV/Aids. Alfonso Noble found out more.

Consultant,
"We are not only concentrating on achieving universal access to treatment for people but also to quality services, to counseling services, to good testing services, and above all the human rights and stigma discrimination which should be tackled."

Rodel Beltran Pererra,
"The initiative is of course responding to HIV and Aids in the region as a community and a community is advocating to improving the lives of people living with HIV but not only improving the lives of people living with HIV but also to be involved and spearhead somehow, or work in collaboration with other partners in the area of HIV prevention. There are people living with HIV as well as people who are negative, HIV negative, but in an era of accessing anti-retroviral medication, we're providing the skills to our partners in joint community based organizations with how to advocate for certain things, especially that will eventually find themselves as policy and legislation in the area of HIV and Aids when accessing anti-retroviral medication. So we're part now of a regional initiative, 5 year initiative, where we'll be working very closely with the populations both infected and affected."

The workshop is being sponsored by LACCASO, the Latin American and Caribbean Council of AIDS Service Organizations. It will conclude on Thursday.
