On Friday we told you that 15-year-old Samantha Romero who was knocked down by the Hon. Marcial Mes was turned away from Universal Health Services because her $98,000 bill was unpaid. But moving at the speed of spin, by the end of the newscast that had been ironed out: the hospital's administrator Troy Gabb told us it was all a big misunderstanding. Gabb told us that the hospital simply needed time to straighten out its records.

The understanding we get is that because it is such a sensitive matter, Universal will take the lead and if necessary settle the difference with Mes later. When we followed up with the Romero family, they confirmed that Samantha finally got to see Dr. Andre Sosa on Monday at Universal.

But that's about it for the good news, she is still in a wheelchair unable to walk and her foot is still swollen. She will have to remain in Belize City for at least the next two weeks to see if her condition improves.

Last Wednesday a Magistrate in Punta Gorda threw out the charges against Marcial Mes when he upheld a no case submission from Mes' attorney Dickie Bradley.
