And another issue for families with the approaching flu season is getting flu shots for the elderly and vulnerable. Now, we stress that is NOT a COVID vaccine, it's a shot to keep away the regular flu. It could be a real difference maker for the most vulnerable - because they could catch COVID, as well as the regular seasonal flu.
Belize is getting its share from global supplies - but Manzanero says it will have to be judiciously distributed:

"The flu vaccine has already arrived for this new flu reason that's starting to come, so you are going to find information being provided in different platforms throughout the week as to which populations would have first access to the vaccine. We can also note that everybody, every country is being told that in the first instance you more than likely are only going to be having vaccines for 20-30% of your population, so every country will have to make determinations as to which 20-30% of the population will have access or initial first access."
