The level of community infection also has an effect on family units - since COVID usually spreads in those units.

This is an issue because the policy is that once a family member tests positive - everyone who lives in that house - should take measures as if they too have tested positive.

Manzanero says the greatest concentration of cases that has been encountered is 17 infected persons in one family.

"We have had big clusters of families. I think the biggest cluster we have heard of is 17 family members being positive from that big cluster. In communities such as the ones that are popping up in Cayo, Toledo, Stann Creek Districts is still family related clusters that are starting to pop up in the communities up north as well is family related clusters."
