PM's chief Of Security Positive For COVID

Tonight the Prime Minister is awaiting the results off a COVID test - after it was learned that he was exposed through his Chief of Security, police officer Jeff Gabriel.

7News has confirmed that Gabriel tested positive today after appearing with symptoms. The concern is that he may have been asymptomatic from Monday - during which time he has driven around extensively with the Prime Minister and his driver in an air conditioned vehicle.

So, the Prime Minister was defiantly exposed to the virus, but it is not yet known if he contracted it. He has taken a PCR test this evening and awaits the results of that test.

His wife Kim's driver has also been tested, as has the staff at the Prime Minister's office.
