One of the new government's major mandates is to ramp up testing and with a current backlog of over 2,500 tests, it's an urgent need.

To that end, a memorandum of understanding was today signed between the Ministry of Health and Wellness and BAHA.

As announced last week, BAHA's lab will be used to ramp up PCR testing. This means that BAHA personnel will be trained in PCR testing under the Ministry's protocols.

A release says, quote, "the parties agreed to establish a joint work program in support of PCR testing at both facilities.." End quote.

New Minister Chebat said at his press conference last week that the offer form BAHA had been on the table form months ago, but the former administration never took it up.
