COVID Outbreak At Mental Facility - 21 of 27 Patients Infected

And while the police continue to investigate that mysterious death, the Ministry of Health is investigating a COVID outbreak at Palm View Center in Belmopan. Some of the must vulnerable Belizeans are at risk after the mental health facility reported that 21 residents and 7 staff members tested positive yesterday. That's 21 out of their 27 residents who are currently ill. Fortunately, no deaths have been reported.

All other patients and staff members have been tested and the Ministry will be following up. Those who do not have serious symptoms are medically isolated but not hospitalized. Negative patients have been relocated to another building on the compound.
