It took two months, but the Briceno administration has finally named its appointees to the Social Security Board of Directors, and the investment committee.
The government-appointed chairperson is Nigeli Sosa. She will be joined by the other government appointees: Emogene Habet-Alcoser, Wendy Castillo, Michael Hyde, and Michael Coye.
The Board representatives from the employers and the National Trade Union Congress of Belize are Lourdes Smith, Marcelo Blake, Lorelie Westby, and Patrick Balan.
For the SSB Investment Committee, the Government has appointed Reynaldo Magana as Chairman, and Vanessa Briceno as a member. The representatives appointed by the Belize Chamber of Commerce and the NTUCB are Emile Mena and Brian Duncan.
The SSB had been operating without a board since November 12th, 2020, and has been without a substantive CEO since January of 2020.
